Esther

Esther 2:20
"All this time, Esther had kept her family background and race a secret as Mordecai had ordered; Esther still did what Mordecai told her, just as when she was being raised by him."

One clue why Esther was able to do what she did...
She made obedience a habit.

1300 years ago

Everytime I watch the trailer for Kung Fu Panda, it reminds me of an old fren!!!
Hahaha ... He always makes me laugh.
But I'm not gonna embarrass him here. :P

I caught The Chronicles Of Narnia: Prince Caspian tonight.
As I sat there watching the opening scene and appreciating the stirring music, for some reason, I felt like I was gonna meet an old fren and I wasn't sure how he or she had grown over the years...

But I must say, the book is WAY better.
Sad to say, they portrayed High King Peter as such an insecure leader.
But I really liked King Edmund in this episode.

I miss my old old Narnia books.
Mine had practically vintage covers ... which don't seem to be available anywhere now...
Sad to say ... I think my copies are somewhere in China ... :P

I heart it

Everytime I take SQ, I am sooooo tempted to buy a bottle of this grappa.
But I always talk myself out of it...cos it's paying SGD80 for eye candy...

Then again, if I never buy it, I'll never know if it tastes good right? Hahahaa....
(the shopaholic shows up...)

One day....

Pay the Tiger

So, Tiger Airways is starting to charge for checked in baggage.
Sounds like a "it's-all-about-the-money-again" scheme, even if they say they are a budget airline.

But, I reckon it's pretty good. I mean, check out the rates.
$5 - Up to 15 kg
$15 - Up to 20 kg
$25 - Up to 25 kg
$40 - Up to 30 kg

Compare this to SQ's zonal charges, where you can be charged anything between $100-$800 for a 10kg overload.

So, if you anticipate that you may have overweight luggage up to 30kg from a crazy shopping trip, it's better to take Tiger and pay $40.

Pre-Father's Day Hilarity

I came across this while doing some research....
I find it ROFL-funny!

Never raise your hand to your kids.  It leaves your groin unprotected.

my daily weight-lifting exercise

A Time magazine survey found that the average woman's handbag in 2007 weighed more than 2.37kg.
That's more than a brick weighs.

The last time I weighed my bag at T3, the scale flashed 4kg.

Not limited

This is Mr. Shih--the only handicapped cab driver in Singapore.
He's had polio since he was three, and walks with crutches.
He supports not merely himself, but his wife and their two kids.
He's also a multi-sport player and volunteers to help other handicaps.
I couldn't help but ask to take a pic with him. :)

anna swee.

There's this cart selling bags between Mac's and BK's in Suntec Tower 2.
Everytime I walk past on my way to buy something I shouldn't from the fast food restaurants, I'll cast my eyes on this Anna Sui bag.

For some reason, I find this shade and design very appealing.

The other day, Nicole said to me, "Chewy passed me a pouch for you...it's your berfdae gift."

Imagine my surprise to realise it's the same one I've been eyeing, and in the exact same shade! Hahaha..... What are the odds?!
And Chewy being in China and all.

Thanks Chewy!!

Buttprints in the sand

I came across this on a fren's blog....
Cracked me up!

One night I had a wondrous dream,
One set of footprints there was seen,
The footprints of my precious Lord,
But mine were not along the shore.
But then some stranger prints appeared,
And I asked the Lord," What have we here?"
Those prints are large and round and neat.
"But Lord, they are too big for feet."
"My child," He said in somber tones,
"For miles I carried you alone.
I challenged you to walk in faith,
But you refused and made me wait."
"You disobeyed, you would not grow,
The walk of faith, you would not know,
So I got tired, I got fed up.
And there I dropped you on your butt."
"Because in life, there comes a time,
When one must fight, and one must climb,
When one must rise and take a stand,
Or leave their butt prints in the sand.

delicieux

I think I can safely say this is the last of this year's berfdae treats....:P

Xinying: "It's happy to find good and cheap food..."

Shar: "It's happy to have frens who know how to enjoy such food together with you...."

The food looks nondescript in these pics, but they induce spasms of happiness, believe me.

No French meal would be complete without escargots...

Ze salmon.

XY proclaiming ze crab's good ... it really is.
But...

The best in my opinion ... ze duck!

Oh, sad are those who are indiscriminate when it comes to eating...:P
